University of Kyrenia

Girne Üniversitesi is the first university in Northern Cyprus specializing in marine studies, management and marine sciences. It was founded in 2013 in Kyrenia; The most beautiful city in Northern Cyprus. It received its accreditation from the Higher Education Planning, Accreditation, and Coordination Council (YODAK), on March 19, 2013.

The university currently funds four important research projects, as it attaches great importance to scientific research and publishing and is the only university in Cyprus that has a research ship.

The University of Kyrenia has become one of the most prominent educational institutions in the region, and it contributes to the development of both the region and the country by offering its educational programs in 15 undergraduate colleges, 3 postgraduate institutes, and 7 vocational schools, including the Civil Aviation Vocational School, in a total of 58 programmes.
